Scamps for my chocolate bars

Here are my first ideas for the front of my chocolate bar designs. I experimented with a range of shapes and drawings, so to get a good idea of what shape I could use for the final piece. I also labelled the designs so I know what elements go where and the piece and can refer back to it when designing it.

Scamps of other bars

I did scamps of other chocolate bars so to gain ideas of how elements were laid out and how much information was used on chocolate bar designs. The first drawings I did were scamps of the most popular chocolate bars however they are not very high market.

I then did scamps of more high market chocolate bars to gain ideas how white space, type and image had been used. As I am designing a high market chocolate bar myself so doing this has inspired me with my own designs.

Emulation - Cheetah

This is the original chocolate bar design by Compartes which I will be emulating. I found this design on Pinterest, its unique design caught my eye and inspired me to copy the design, which I have done and now emulating it to produce my own version with a different animal.

Firstly, I put several pictures into Photoshop so I could edit them to use in the design. I turned the photo into black and white and used the levels to transform the coloured image into pure black and white. The magic wand tool then deletes the white so just the black is left.

Below are all the images in Photoshop, that I turned into black and white so to use them on the emulation.

I copied the template and type across from the zebra emulation and started adding parts of cheetah spots to the bar.

Here is the design with all the parts of cheetah pattern inside. I ensured the design was a similar layout to the zebra pattern in that the heads and spots where placed in the same area and were about the same size.

To add colour I used the brush tool to replicate the zebra design. I used different colours to the zebra layout but ensured they were in similar places. I also placed the spray paint balls in the same places to it was in the same style but a different design.

Here is the final design with a cheetah pattern instead of the zebra stripes. I have aligned the type so that it is identical and the type is hand drawn which I have shown in the previous post.
